Rental terms, in plain words.

Everything here is in the rental agreement PDF you sign at pickup — nothing new, just easier to read.

  1. 01

    The rental

By booking with Uhuru Campers, you agree to these terms. The rental period runs from the pickup date to the drop-off date printed on your rental agreement. The camper is your responsibility for the whole period.

  2. 02

    Who can drive

Every driver must be listed on the booking, hold a Category B licence, and upload a photo of their licence and ID before pickup. The minimum age and required years of driving experience depend on the van — the specifics for your booking are on the camper's page and on the rental agreement PDF.

  3. 03

    Payments and deposit

The rental amount is due by bank transfer to hold the booking. The refundable deposit is invoiced separately and due before pickup. After drop-off, the deposit is returned by bank transfer to the same account you paid from, provided the van comes back in the same condition and all costs are settled.

  4. 04

    Where you can drive

Included: Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Cross the border freely — no extra fees, no paperwork on our side. Not permitted: Bosnia and Herzegovina. Elsewhere in Europe: possible with extra insurance. Get in touch before booking so we can quote it in.

  5. 05

    Mileage and fuel

Each camper carries its own mileage policy, printed on its page and on your rental agreement. Full tank in, full tank out — if the tank isn't full at drop-off, the refuelling cost is deducted from the deposit.

  6. 06

    Care of the camper

Return the van tidy: bin out, toilet emptied, dishes washed, dirty linens and towels off. Otherwise a €50 cleaning fee comes out of the deposit. Highway tolls, traffic fines, and parking fines from any country are the renter's responsibility.

  7. 07

    Damage and accidents

The deposit may be retained to cover repairs, replacements, fees, fines, and logistics. If the cost of damage exceeds the deposit, the balance is invoiced directly. In any accident, you must call the police and get a report — we need it to file with the insurance. Notify us of any damage or accident as soon as you can.

  8. 08

    Insurance

The van carries mandatory Albanian Third-Party Liability (TPL) insurance, which covers damage you may cause to other people or their property in an accident involving another vehicle. TPL does not cover damage to our van from a self-caused accident, nor damage to the interior or cabin equipment — electrics, water, cabinets, windows, ventilation, solar. Those are the renter's responsibility.

  9. 09

    What's not allowed

The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities. Pets, smoking, and overloading are prohibited unless otherwise specified for a particular camper.

  10. 10

    Cancellation, extensions, late returns

Refund windows are on the cancellation page. Extensions or early returns are by mutual written agreement. If you'll be late back, you must notify us at least two days in advance — extra days are charged at the rate on your rental agreement.
